Somerset County Player Wins $1.6 Million on Pennsylvania Lottery Scratch-Off

Kathryn M. of Somerset County said she was recovering from surgery, so she had been on leave from work for a while when on Friday, February 6, 2026, she decided to stop by Sunoco in Wharton Township, Fayette County to buy a Scratch-Off. “I always stopped by that store on my way to work so I decided to go there to pick up a ticket,” said Kathryn. “Honestly I always buy crosswords.” But this time Kathryn’s purchase was random, she said, as she went to a machine and selected a $10,000 a Month for Life ticket, a $5 game that offers annuity top prizes of $10,000 a month for life or one lump sum cash prize worth $1.6 million. “When I won, I was nervous!” said Kathryn.

“I was in disbelief and in shock! I was shaking!”

Kathryn said she immediately shared the great news with her wife. She also told her family. “My mom cried,” said Kathryn. “I think I’ll pay off some bills and buy a house! I’ll also help my family.” Congratulations, Kathryn, and thank you for playing!
